Why is Shopify is not good in SEO?

If we talk about Shopify, it lacks some of the basic SEO material. for example :

1- Meta Descriptions :

It is not an easy task to add meta descriptions in Shopify apps as the system automatically picks the description and do not check the relevance.

2- Blocking of ‘robot.txt’ file :

In Shopify, it is not easy to play-around with the ‘robot.txt’ file as it can be blocked. Especially it skips the pages having more than two words in the title. As a result search engines cannot rank those pages and hence it affect the ranking of entire e-shop.

When you have to compete with other brands name, the sub-categories are most important for SEO in particular within online retail. However, Shopify does not allow you to add specific sub-categories for SEO perspective.

Shopify does not provide you with the HTML sitemap that is required by most of the search engines to crawl through the website.
